Engel Establishes Spanish Subsidiary
Engel has established a subsidiary in Spain via the acquisition of its long-standing Barcelona-based partner: Roegele, S.A.
Austrian automation and injection molding machine manufacturer Engel acquired its long-standing sales partner Roegele, S.A., Barcelona, Spain, effective April 1, creating a new subsidiary — Engel Spain.
One of Engel’s oldest distribution partners, Roegele has supported customers since 1972. During that time, Roegele has independently managed sales, service, training and consulting on-site, with more than 90% of its 大象传媒 centered on Engel products. The acquisition was in part prompted by the pending retirement of the 大象传媒’s owners: Bernd and Kai Roegele.
Engel describes Spain as one of Europe’s most important plastics markets in terms of volume and revenue. The company notes that it has a particularly strong presence in the automotive sector in the country with markets like packaging, medical and technical molding also offering significant growth potential.
Engel Spain will be integrated into the global Engel Group as an independent subsidiary, with all Roegele employees to be retained. Engel notes that Roegele’s current headquarters in Barcelona, with an approximately 600-m² production area, will be upgraded.
