highlights its front-end mold simulation software for mold designers and tooling managers. SimForm software provides cloud-based,  high-speed and affordable simulation for injection and compression molding applications. According to the company, users can obtain results in 15 minutes in order to predict temperatures and cooling times, optimize cooling channel placement and improve quality as well as reduce costs.

The software enables technicians to import any design technology from a CAD package, select the mold, plastic and insert materials, tag cooling channels and vary the design parameters.

In terms of data capabilities, the solution offers predictive tools, such as how the mold and plastic temperatures evolve over time. According to the company, SimForm keeps data safe and secure, and is easy to access through a web browser — no installation required.

Other useful facets include: freeze-time view feature, utilized to pinpoint regions which drive mold cooling time; identification of risks for warpage, comparison of safe ejection times; and a locator for the most optimal location for drilling channels, baffles inserts and conformal cooling.

Additionally, the software service has a new feature of note. The mold cooling Generative Design feature offers an AI-driven optimization tool which helps standardize and streamline the evaluation of conformal cooling, making the process more repeatable/reliable. The Channel Recommender identifies key cooling regions and suggests initial channel routes throughout those areas. A cooling simulation then evaluates whether temperatures are sufficiently uniform and if the cycle time meets its targets — providing quantitative data to guide decision-making.

The benefits? According to Maya HTT, moldmakers can design better plastic parts when equipped with proper data, which leads to cost-efficient manufacturing. Mold designers can optimize their designs earlier in the process to avoid changes down the line that would be costly and time-consuming. Additionally, with the labor shortages the industry is facing, this software offers a solution, as it can assist newer or junior mold designers and technicians in making informed decisions, to ultimately streamline the production process.
