Jomar Corp., a longtime provider in injection-blow molding machinery, now also offers its first capabilities for in-house mold design, development and production. The company has acquired a local moldmaker and has set aside a portion of Jomar’s headquarters in Belleville, New Jersey, for its new tooling operations.
According to Carlos Castro, Jomar’s president, “Jomar has long offered tooling and turnkey services, but in the past those have involved partnering with proven subcontractors, which we will continue to do. But going forward, we will have these capabilities in-house and will now be able to offer them to customers at significantly lower pricing.”
This means Jomar process engineers can be involved at every stage of the development process. This includes mold development at the firm’s R&D center on dedicated test machines by highly trained design and process personnel, as well as verification and inspection to the approved product drawing. Overall, Jomar’s turnkey service includes project validation, tool design, tool manufacturing, testing, quality control and commissioning in the customer’s facility, as well as training in Jomar classrooms or on-site education.
