Industrial sheet extruder Premier Material Concepts (PMC) has added a thermforming machine to its Findlay, Ohio, plant to allow it to conduct performance tests on new sheet products and to offer prototyping services for thermoformers.
The forming machine was furnished by , Carol Stream, Ill. It is equipped with an adjustable clamp frame and large oven accommodating sheet up to 4 x 5 ft. The machine is specially engineered with a laser monitor that tracks the amount of sheet sag vs. time on each cycle. This data allows PMC to chart and compare the performance of different materials and build in sheet consistency from run to run.
“This new thermoformer represents PMC’s commitment to provide our customers with consistent, quality products from lot to lot and day by day,” says Eric Hausserman, v.p. of engineering and plant facilities. “It allows us to see just what our customers see when they thermoform materials to give us the visibility we need to dial into their exact specifications.”
PMC specializes in single- and multilayer sheet of TPE, ABS, HIPS, PP, and acrylic for a wide range of markets, include point-of-purchase displays, automotive, marine, and construction.
