Mucell Extrusion Purchased by Censco
Zotefoams PLC sells Mucell Extrusion Technology brand to engineering services company.
, a Lowell, Masachussetts-based engineering services company, has acquired Mucell Extrusion Technology LLC from Zotefoams PLC.
is a registered trademark of Trexel Inc. licensed to Mucell Extrusion Technology LLC for use in microcellular foaming of extrusion products. In the Mucell-patented process, pure atmospheric gas is injected into the polymer during processing to create a microcellular, or foamed, core within a solid skin. The result, Mucell says, is a single material that looks and performs like a solid plastic yet uses 15-20% less polymer.
This new deal grants Censco full control over Mucell Extrusion, expanding the previous agreement signed with Zotefoams. This agreement goes beyond equipment manufacture and service to enable Censco to provide order placement, assembly, supply and service.
“We are thrilled to combine the high quality of Censco’s services with this leading technology,” says Juan Cardona, president and CEO of Censco LLC. “We have the resources and know-how to take charge of Mucell Extrusion, believing in the future of this technology and its vast potential to reduce plastic usage and costs for manufacturers.”
Censco has offered a full range of engineering services, equipment manufacturing and aftermarket services to the plastic industry for more than 20 years.
