Octal to Start PET Sheet Extrusion in Ohio
APET sheet to be made exclusively from sheet flake.
Oman-based (U.S. sales office in Dallas) will start its first U.S. production of APET sheet in West Chester, Ohio, near Cincinnati, in the second half of this year. Octal already supplies its unique DPET sheet, extruded directly from the reactor, in North America, along with PET bottle-resin pellets. The new plant will extrude sheet from flake recycled from its DPET sheet customers and other sources. Its product line will include products with both post-industrial and post-consumer sheet flake content. “This new plant is our proactive response to our customers’ stated need for flake reprocessing and quick-turnaround delivery options in North America,” said William J. Barenberg, Jr., Octal COO. The company expects to double the output of the new plant 18 months after startup.
