A new digital color formulation program combines powerful matching software with an easy-to-use interface that reportedly makes sharing color information faster and more secure than previously possible. Introduced at the K 2007 show in Germany, Match Pigment version 1.2 from Datacolor Corp., Lawrenceville, N.J., is said to outperform other products by applying new colormatching science that was previously unavailable in commercial products. At the software’s core is Formula Central, a virtual color lab that appears in a single window and enables users to try multiple scenarios and enables them to review each step in matching or correcting a color. Also included is Datacolor Tools software for color QC and analysis. It generates customized reports and can share data with other Datacolor Spectrum color-measurement software products. Match Pigment 1.2 provides enhanced data security for users that manage color throughout global supply chains. Various security levels control access to data.
