CAI Performance Additives, a provider of additive solutions, has launched its new VOC Removal Masterbatch, LDV 8010. This product effectively reduces volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions in plastic compounds, particularly ABS and PC/ABS, without compromising product quality or requiring additional equipment investment.
For example, the product is designed for use in electric vehicle (EV) interior applications where OEM standards of air quality need to be maintained. Talc-reinforced PC/ABS is widely used in such automotive applications, but can struggle to achieve VOC standards for automotive OEMs.
LDV 8010 is a porous ABS-based ‘deodorant’ additive masterbatch that efficiently absorbs unwanted organics during the compounding process. This technology eliminates the need for complex and costly VOC-removal systems, making it well suited for manufacturers seeking to improve air quality and environmental sustainability.
