Temperature Control Portfolio Expanded
At Fakuma, technotrans will showcase energy-efficient temperature control units, including one with a natural refrigerant and a live variothermal demo on a KraussMaffei press.
At Fakuma 2024, sustainability will be technotrans’ focus as it showcases energy-efficient thermal management technologies for plastics processing. The company has expanded its portfolio with the new base.line, high.line and eco.line series of compact temperature control units (TCU). The new teco ci system features 18 kW of power and a flow rate of 70 L/min. The units feature a small footprint and accessible maintenance functions, as well as the Pump Efficiency Module (PEM) and ecoAnalyzer visualization, which technotrans says give processors a clear overview of complete energy management. As an option, the TCUs are available with an OPC-UA communication interface, enabling networking with other machines within a production cell.
There will also be a live application of several technotrans systems on a fully electric KraussMaffei injection molding machine, featuring variothermal mold temperature control. That machine will mold display frames, applying the teco vario variothermal tool temperature control to produce optimal surface structure for the parts. Conventional temperature control is provided by two units from the teco ci series, applying PEM and the itd evo water distribution system with electronic circuit monitoring.
The company will also display the kws series water-cooled refrigeration units. These offer air- and water-cooled versions available in single- or dual-circuit configurations, which use technotrans’ energy-saving module with sliding condensation pressure regulation. With an energy efficiency rating (or EER value) up to eight, the units can be optionally equipped with environmentally friendly low-GWP refrigerant, including R513A or R290 propane. The machine presented at Fakuma can operate both as a refrigeration machine and as a heat pump. The system’s heating condenser, including heating circuit pump, makes heat recovery a possibility as well.
