At K Show 2022 in Germany, will display working examples of its equipment for separating metal from plastic wastes, freeing downstream plastic manufacturing processes from the ravages of metal contamination, which can cause costly equipment damage and downtime and impair the quality of the final product.

Contamination can enter PCR material streams in many forms, from stray bolts to fine particulates. Bunting’s equipment is designed to detect and remove these foreign materials from the stream.

The FF drawer filter magnets remove small ferrous metal contamination. The FF350 model features temperature-compensated magnets that can withstand excessive heat that would damage ordinary magnets.

Bunting will display five metal detectors, each designed for installation at different manufacturing stages and to handle specific materials. The Quicktron 05, Quicktron 03R, and HS9050/9100 are designed for free-fall applications. For choke applications, the machine mounted metal separator can be mounted directly on top of injection molding machines. Finally, the Ptron detects ferrous, non-ferrous, and stainless steel contamination within enclosed pipe systems.

For removing small non-ferrous metal, Bunting will present their high intensity eccentric (HIE) eddy current separator. Eddy current separation technology repels non-ferrous metals, enabling their separation from non-conductive materials like plastics.
