Robotic Palletizing Cells Flex Their Muscles
Six-axis robotic case packers and palletizers from Flexicell.
., Ashland, Va., showcases its robotic palletizing and case-packing technology at NPE2018. As a system integrator and automation equipment manufacturer, Flexicell has created a line of standard robotic palletizers to provide simple, reliable, user-friendly, and economical robotic solutions.
“Our end-of-line packaging systems solve a pain point for the manufacturing industry,” said Hans de Koning, CEO. “Finding skilled labor can be a daunting task, so having an automated solution in place ensures production lines can stay on schedule. The line of standard palletizers was developed to bridge the labor gap and bring low cost and high productivity to a broader spectrum of the industry base.”
Flexicell’s line includes the Compact Palletizer with the smallest footprint in its lineup of standard cells. It’s designed to be moved from one production line to another, if required. The system is designed to stop for a manual pallet exchange.
The Dual Floor Position Palletizer allows for continuous automatic operation on a single production line. The robot works on one pallet station until full, then moves to the next. This mode of operation allows time to replace the full pallet with an empty one without stopping the work cell.
The Over/Under Robotic Palletizer performs pallet handling on an over/under conveyor and uses a scissor lift to transfer the pallets vertically at the loading station. This model also allows for continuous automatic operation on a single production line.
The Pallet Handling Robotic Palletizer is engineered for continuous automatic operation on a single production line. An empty pallet is picked up by a robot from a pallet magazine and then placed at the palletizing location. The robot will then pick and place single cases onto the pallet until full. The full pallet is conveyed out of the work cell to be picked up via forklift.
