Pre-Treatment Process for Food-Grade PET Sheet
Device teams with twin-screw extruder to purify recycled PET flake for food-contact applications.
The PURe system from Bandera is a pre-treatment process that purifies rPET flake for food-contact applications. It uses microwave generators to treat the flake for its cleaning process. Cycle times are approximately 30–45 min. PURe is a dual-reactor process that cycles between the reactors in a semi-continuous manner. The treated flake is then ready for processing into sheet through the HVTSE twin screw process.
There are multiple sizes available ranging from 1100 lb/hr thru 4400+ lb/hr.
In North America, the technology is available through Processing Technologies International LLC.
