Globeius is now distributing a complete line of soft tools and gate cutters which are designed to offer injection molders both improved productivity and increased profitability. Globeius is a distributor of plastics machinery and equipment based in Miami, Florida, now serving as the exclusive North American distributor of Mouldpro products.
Denmark-based Mouldpro offers a range of products for injection molding professionals, including molding sprays, consumables, water couplings, specialist tools and accessories. “We’re pleased to now be offering Mouldpro’s line of mold maintenance products and gate cutters,” says Graeme Sands, Globeius general manager. “The company’s products are not only of high quality but feature very competitive prices.”
Mouldpro’s line of key soft molding tools includes:
- High-quality bronze pliers which are well suited for removing sprues or working on a mold. The strong but soft forged design means reduced risk of scratching the surface. The pliers are available as straight needle nose, angled needle nose (in two different sizes) and side cutters.
- Brass nonscratching scrapers that will not damage the mold surface when molders need to remove stuck plastic sprues or molded parts. This line is available with flat and angled blades.
- The line of brass hand tools is manufactured from high-grade brass. These tools are said to ensure molders can safely work on mold tools without damaging the mold surface and are well suited for removing frozen sprues or stuck parts. The tips are supplied blunt and may be shaped to suit specific requirements.
- The knockout bar is a simple but effective tool that combines a tough steel rod with threaded brass replaceable tips that prevent damage to the mold surface. The threaded brass tip can be quickly replaced to ensure that the rod never gets too short or wears out and minimizes the risk of burning.
- Deburring tools include the ceramic knife-work finisher. It is well suited for curved and complicated shapes, excelling on ultrahard materials such as glass-fiber, carbon-fiber and talc-filled plastics. It can be used on soft metals such as aluminum, copper and brass. Other key features include ceramics that make safe deburring possible because of the work finisher’s unique nonblade-like edge. It also said to easily deburr hard plastics without cutting hands or fingers in the process. These tools can be used for surface finishing plastics molding parts such as very small or very confined areas; a narrow, concave area; or a complex portion.
- Deburring blades are a light-duty tool for fine deflashing and deburring. The blades features a plastic handle, removable S10 blade, heavy-duty 3.2-mm shank and a handy pocket clip.
- Ceramic knives are safe to use for trimming molded parts. Key features include an ergonomic handle, convex blade well suited for parting line flash and a concave blade for curved edges and small ridges. In addition, replaceable blades can be stored in the handle.
- For polishing and abrasives, the company offers a copper gauze that is of knitted copper, 130-mm wide x 30-m roll.
- A brass hand brush for cleaning surfaces without damaging the mold parts.
Mouldpro’s heated nippers (gate cutters) are handheld tools with built-in heaters for trimming sprues from molded parts. The heater warms the blade edges for easier, crack-free cutting of fragile materials such as acrylics, styrenics and glass-filled resins. They are available in a variety of styles, including short and long blade lengths, angled blades and more.
