Low-Throughput Dryer Series With Matching Hoopers
Series comes in a throughput range from 3 oz.-15 lbs/hr. and is said to be ideal for medical molding.
The MicroDryer Series (MD) from Dri-Air is a line of sleek, compressed air dryers designed for very low throughputs. The series consists of three models for throughputs from 3 oz.-15 lbs/hr: the MD-1 with a capacity of up to 3 lbs; the MD-2 with a 5-lb hopper capacity; and the MD-3 with capacity of up to 15 lbs.
Dryers are equipped with a membrane and compressed air prefilters, which reportedly ensure low dewpoints (-101°F and below).
Built as a matched dryer/hopper combination, the fully stainless-steel construction is said to be ideal for medical molding with low throughputs and/or high-cost resins. On the MD-1 series, an optional adjustable fill sensor can be used with the standard full-length sight glass to vary the capacity of the hopper.

The dryers operate on 120-V or 230-V, single-phase power and a 100 psi clean compressed air supply. For ease of use, the 4-in. color touchscreen will guide the operator for temperature and alarm settings and a 7-day timer for automatic start/stops, according to the company.
The full series offers the following options:
- -101°F dewpoint meter
- Adjustable fill sensor
- Available integrated compressed air loader for loading drying hopper
- Feed throat adapter
- Remote dryer capabilities
