In recent years, Kautex has focused on high-output production with its KBB all-electric and KCC hydraulic double-side shuttle blow molding machines. Now, the company is refocusing its attention on smaller blow molders with lower output requirements but a need for quick changes among a diverse range of products. Kautex sees this as a growing market, which led the firm to relaunch its 57-year-old “legacy KEB platform into a new era,” according to a company announcement.

The updated KBB GREY line is “designed as a flexible, compact and energy-efficient solution for extrusion blow molding of complex parts and packaging.” New features include an energy-efficient electric extruder and new BC6 controls with 24-in. widescreen interface.

The flexible hydraulic clamp with tiebarless scissor design reportedly enables easy tool changes and provides room for additional devices. Adjustable architecture supports multilayer extrusion, angled-neck calibration, bottom blow, rapid-cooling masks and complex post-processing. The compact build integrates all key modules on one frame, while reduced compressed-air usage enhances energy efficiency.

KEB GREY machines adapt to large jerrycans or consumer packaging and are compatible with existing KEB molds. Available models are KEB10, KEB20 and KEB30 with clamp forces of 12, 24 and 38 metric tons, respectively.
