Fast Thermal Reactions for Hot Runner Nozzle
Günther says the compact design of its new BlueFlow heating technology results in a slimmer, more powerful and energy-efficient hot runner nozzle.
At Fakuma 2023, Günther presented its BlueFlow hot runner heating technology, among other new introductions, which it describes as significantly slimmer, more powerful and more energy-efficient than predecessors. The company says the BlueFlow hot runner nozzle has faster thermal reactions and is well suited for processing high-temperature resins.
To support molders with process reliability when changing tools, Günther also debuted the blueMaster check device to electronically verify wiring, sensors and more during changeovers. Günther says the device’s measuring electronics are installed in an industrial plug housing, with Bluetooth communications and a battery. The blueMaster check uses a low measuring voltage to determine if a thermocouple is functioning; measure the heating load; and give a reading on the polarity of the thermocouples.
Günther says the device checks all contacts against each other, with the diagnostic results displayed on any device, including Android and iOS. These readings can then be saved, exported and archived for documentation purposes. Günther says the blueMaster check’s battery is long lasting and when depleted is chargeable via a standard USB power supply. The transmission power is sufficient to transmit the measurement results to a device over a distance of more than 30 ft.
Günther also expanded on the blueMaster compact temperature control device presented at K 2022, offering a new version with an integrated display for users that didn’t want to use a smart device to access the device. The company also introduced 8/10/12 SMT and NMT hot runner nozzles from 50 to 200 mm (2 to 8 in.) with conventional heating. Günther says the position-safe fixed heating enables precise temperature control in a space-saving design.
