A new color masterbatch is said to offer an upscale, trendy alternative to brushed aluminum. Developed by Ampacet Corp., Tarrytown, N.Y., Brushed Brilliance masterbatch reportedly captures the luster, visual presentation and textural nuances of metal at a fraction of the cost. It's an extension of the company’s Liquid Metals line of special effects color concentrates that utilize its proprietary Formula X PET technology, which reportedly does not require predrying and can be fed directly at the throat of the extruder. “These effects work best with glossy resins like PET. In HDPE, a high-gloss resin is recommended. It will also work in PP, PS, PC, ABS, and nylon. Polished molds are also recommended,” says strategic 大象传媒 manager Doug Brownfield. Brushed Brilliance metallic colors include Crazy Grape, Urban Teal, Monster Green, Electric Lemonade, Brushed Chrome, and Hyper Blue.
