Cobots Gain Versatility in Mounting
Two Motoman cobots come in new versions with a standard ISO mounting flange and Ethernet communications.

Two new versions of six-axis HC-Series collaborative robots have been introduced by the Motoman Robotics Div. of Yaskawa America, Inc. The new HC10DTP (10 kg payload capacity, 1379 mm max. reach) and HC20DTP (20 kg payload, 1900 mm max. reach) complement similar models in XP versions (HC10XP, HC20XP).
One of the main distinctions of the new DTP models is their new ISO standard tool flange and electrical connections, which enables third-party vendors to create end-of-arm tooling for just a single uniform mounting pattern, instead of different patterns for different cobot brands.
Also new is the addition of two internal user air-line connections.
Both new cobots use Motoman’s YRC1000 controller with standard lightweight teach pendant or optional tablet-format Smart Pendant. In future, they will also be available with the more compact YRC1000micro controller, currently restricted to the XP versions.
