Cast Acrylic Purging Compound
Mechanical purging compound comes in granulate form, enhancing handling, storage and grittiness for cleaning.
, known primarily as an extrusion processor of acrylic sheet, has introduced OPTIX-Purge, a mechanical purging compound developed to reduce downtime between production runs. Made of 100% cast acrylic, the purge is said to eliminate material contamination and black specks, and flush out material changes between colors to eliminate residual color. It’s available in 1,500-lb gaylords or 300-lb drums.
Plaskolite says the material is a sustainable option created from recycled material which minimizes waste and reduces scrap generation. It is available in a granular form, resembling rock salt, which reportedly offers enhanced handling, storage and grittiness for cleaning without sticking to the screw or barrel.

Billed as a more cost-effective solution compared to competitive products, OPTIX-Purge effectively expedites the removal of impurities by physical means rather than chemical reactions.
Plaskolite called it the ultimate scrubber, meticulously designed to not melt, making it a premium cleaner for extrusion and injection molding.
