Automated Injection Molding Process Adjustments
Shibaura says its S-Concept represents an AI technology capable of making real-time process adjustments.
Shibaura Machine Co. America is unveiling its S-Concept technology at NPE2024. The company says the S-Concept is a seamless integration of components, software and Industrial IoT to provide customers with enhanced, quantifiable and improved molding capabilities.
The S-Concept enables molders to input all basic mold settings on a single screen to initiate a molding process faster, with the ability to make immediate, automatic adjustments for resin viscosity changes to maximize part quality.

One-touch, auto-set, low-pressure mold protection is possible, and Shibaura says the technology can help molders attain extremely fast dry-cycle times. The S-Concept also collects valuable process data and can be monitored from anywhere via machiNetCloud, Shibaura’s industrial IoT service. It can also monitor power consumption through the V70 controller. Shibaura is featuring the S-Concept on live demos of four different manufacturing cells at its booth.
