Recycled Plastic Flooring Product Recognized
Shaw industries recognized by Fast Company for its PET flooring product.
’s Reworx flooring received three honorable mentions during Fast Company’s Innovation by Design awards. Recognition came in the categories of Circular Design, Materials, and Sustainability.

Reworx flooring is made from PET fiber, including PET sourced from post-consumer plastic bottles. It is described as a hybrid flooring: neither a hard surface nor a carpet, designed for easy cleaning and a warm feel but also durability.
The flooring can itself be recycled into new flooring, earning it Bronze Certification. Shaw offers a return program that will arrange pick up of the flooring product at its end of life, at no cost to the customer, to be incorporated into a future generation of Reworx flooring.
Shaw launched its first Cradle to Cradle product, a recyclable carpet tile called Ecoworx, in 1999. According to Kellie Ballew, v.p. at Shaw, nearly 90% of the company’s products are now Cradle to Cradle certified.
Reworx is aimed at commercial properties, and is expected to be available in the first quarter of 2023.
