Plastic Design & Manufacturing Acquired by Executive Team
Mike Groff, founder of the Montana based injection molder and moldmaker, has transferred ownership.
Ownership of Plastic Design & Manufacturing (PDM; Manhattan, Mont.) has been transferred from its founder, Mike Groff, to the company’s existing executive team, including Randy Scheid, president & CFO; James Smith, VP Operations & Engineering; and Darrell Witham, VP Sales & Marketing. Those individuals, along with Sam Lazcano, VP of PDM MX Operations, will run the company. Groff will retain a seat on the PDM’s board.
Founded in 1998, PDM operates two facilities, including the Montana plant with machines from 55 to 675 tons and 65 employees, and the Juarez, Mexico site with presses ranging in clamp force from 55 to 950 tons and 94 employees.
PDM is a full-service injection molder serving customers in the telecommunication, firearm, consumer goods, and pet product markets. In a release, Groff discussed PDM establishing and expanding a second facility in Mexico, and the company’s revenue growth to the $20 million range. “PDM currently has an impressive executive team, with the ability to grow the company and capably operate it to become a larger presence in the industry,” Groff said.
