Innovative Bottle Design Recognized
Berry's tethered closure design received an award for Technological Excellence from the Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies.
received a Technology Excellence Award from The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies for its Proxima tethered closure with tamper-evident band.
The tether remains intact when the tamper-evident band is broken as the bottle is opened, keeping the cap and bottle together and allowing easy re-closure. By ensuring that the cap remains with the bottle, the solution cuts down on waste and improves recyclability.

The tethered closure keeps the cap with the bottle after opening, reducing likelihood it will become waste.

The award was announced at Pack Expo in Chicago, IL. Proxima was chosen as the winner in the food and beverage category, by attendees and packaging expert panelists.
“As we push the limits of innovation with creative, sustainable packaging solutions, it is an honor to be recognized by our peers and other packaging experts,” said Jean-Marc Galvez, president of the consumer packaging division at Berry Global.
Berry is dedicating its booth at Pack Expo to showcase how its collaborations across the value chain are driving environmental sustainability through design for recyclability and use of recycled materials.
