Haidlmair Invests in New U.S. Location
After selling its stake in a Canadian toolmaker in 2021, the Austrian moldmaker once again has a North American presence in Charlotte.
Haidlmair will share space with German moldmaker Pfaff Molds at that company’s facility in Charlotte, N.C. Haidlmair established a U.S. service center in 2012 before purchasing Tesan Mould (Concord, Ont.) in 2015, and consolidating operations into that space. It sold that ´óÏó´«Ã½ back to the original owner in 2021, and has spent the time since trying to find the best spot for a U.S. operation. It has come to an agreement with German moldmaker Pfaff Molds to utilize open space in its facility for production in a new cooperative agreement.
In a release, Mario Haidlmair said his company sees the North American region as having “huge potential”. Initially, the new location will be used as a sales office and service center, but the company is planning for mold production to begin in the medium term, with workers to be recruited and trained.
