ExxonMobil Doubles PP Production in Baton Rouge
The new PP unit is now up and running.

ExxonMobil has started up a new PP unit at its Baton Rouge, La., facility as had been planned. The new unit doubles the company’s production there by nearly 1 billion lb/yr and is capable of producing advanced PP grades for use in high-performance automotive, appliance, and packaging applications. .
Said Karen McKee, president of ExxonMobil Product Solutions, “With the startup of this new production unit, we are well positioned to responsibly meet the growing global demand for these high-performance polymers. The ingenuity of our people and our investments in technology enable us to produce high-quality products that are essential to daily life.” ExxonMobil maintained its investments in this advantaged project through the COVID pandemic and related economic downturn. The total capital investment was more than $500 million.
