Axiom Group Expands into U.S.
Axiom Engineered Systems will open its first U.S. site in Capac, Mich.—a facility that will house its plastic injection manufacturing, warehousing, distribution and administration.
Axiom Engineered Systems LLC, a subsidiary of Ontario-based Axiom Group, will be expanding into the U.S., with Michigan as its newest location.
Axiom had been supplying U.S. customers from production facilities in Ontario and Mexico, but the company said in a release that an influx of recent contracts will require it to increase production capacity. By securing its first U.S. plastic injection molding facility, Axiom said it will be able to supply its new and existing contracts.
The new facility will be located in Capac, Mich. and will house plastic injection manufacturing, warehousing, distribution and administration. The project is expected to feature a capital investment of $13.3 million and the creation of 200 jobs. It is supported by a $1.24 million Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant. In addition to its current capabilities, Axiom Engineered Systems said this newest facility is designed to double in size, in terms of both sales and employment over the next three years.
Axiom Group President & CEO Perry Rizzo said in a release that the Capac facility has already secured more than $50 million in new ´óÏó´«Ã½, with plans to begin operations within an 8-month timeframe. Ultimately, Axiom says it has plans for three additional U.S. facilities.
