A maker of complex tooling for injection molded exterior and interior parts, lighting molds and optic inserts, WMGT generated $270 million in revenue for the fiscal year ended April 30, 2022. In a release, Terry Campbell, president and CEO of ABC Technologies, said the acquisition strengthens ABC’s exterior products offering, while expanding its injection molding technical expertise and bringing additional value-added tooling in-house.
ABC Technologies supplies custom technical plastics and lightweighting technologies to more than 25 OEM customers globally. Its offerings include manufacturing, design, engineering, material compounding, machine tooling and equipment building. ABC Technologies’ Supreme Tooling Group (STG) provides blowmolding machine design, assembly lines and post-production fixtures, with the machines built in Canada and customized to specific resin applications.
In April, WMGT opened its second facility in Mexico. The newest operation will be named Mexiplas – Colón and be located in the Aerotech Industrial Park in Colón, Querétaro. In 2011, the company opened Mexiplas – Querétaro, its first molded products facility. Mexiplas – Colón will start production in late 2022 in support of several OEM vehicle platforms assembled in Mexico. The facility will cover 150,000-ft2 and house 10 new large-tonnage Engel injection molding machines with multimaterial capabilities.
