Ocean Plastics in My Wallet
O.P. recycling helps pay the bills.

In a recent blog, I imagined what an energy shot it would be for ocean plastics recycling if it were to become used in major automotive parts. What a pleasant surprise, then, to open an envelope containing my new American Express Corporate Green Card and read the following:
“Your new Green Card is made from 70% reclaimed marine plastic collected from beaches and coastal communities, so this Card is helping keep our oceans clean.”
My old card was colored green, but this one is really Green with a capital “G.” Now, every time I use this card—and the same goes for everyone else in my company (and others) that has one—I’ll be reminded of the urgent need to stop trashing our oceans and of the progress being made globally in advancing plastics recycling.
