The study details export opportunities for American plastic film makers in lithium-ion battery markets in China. The report provides data and analysis of China’s manufacturers and the incentives offered by the Chinese government.
North American processors of lithium-ion battery separators have a good chance of exporting their films to China, the report states. China needs to import high-performance, high-quality separators for large transportation batteries used in electric cars and hybrids. Chinese-produced separators are generally suitable for electronic batteries but not for vehicles. China has hundreds of battery makers but only a few suppliers of lithium-ion battery separators, the report states.
