RadiciGroup Now Nylon Producer in Mexico
With new acquisition, RadiciGroup Plastics makes entry into Mexico and Central America.
Through the acquisition of the nylon engineering plastics division of Mexican manufacturer Retsinas TB, Italy’s (U.S. office in Wadsworth, Ohio) has kicked off nylon production with its new company, Radici Plastics Mexico.
Located in Ocotlan near Guadalajara, said to be a logistically strategic area to serve automotive firms in North and Central Mexico, the Mexican facility has an installed production capacity of 16-million lb/yr. Says CEO Luigi Gerolla, “It is an extremely attractive market for us, particularly in automotive… top brands such as FCA, BMW, GM, Nissan, Ford, and VW Audi, to name a few, have been investing heavily in Mexico for some time, as have the major world automotive parts manufacturers.” The acquisition enables Radici to support a series of new projects on which they are working with automotive industry players in Mexico and all of Central America. The technical content and quality of their materials, formulations and product range, as well as their technology, will be identical to those available at all of RadiciGroup Plastics’ other global locations.
