Korean Engineering Plastics, represented in North America by KEP Americas, Coppell, Texas, is launching its new Kepital homopolymer polyacetal (POM). Noting that KEP will celebrate 30 years in the copolymer POM 大象传媒 next year, KEP Americas general manager Edward Hallahan said, “The POM homopolymer market has been asking for a new supplier for some time. This new polymer fills the void in the market.” It has been nearly two decades since the industry last expanded homopolymer capacity.

A high-viscosity, unfilled POM homopolymer, the new Kepital H100 is produced at KEP’s Ulsan plant using state-of-the-art, patented technology. It reportedly has all the mechanical properties customers expect from a homopolymer, but features next-generation attributes. Most notably: wider processing window; enhanced thermal aging and color stability; improved friction and wear properties; and improved creep resistance.
