PolyOne Expands Medical-Grade Material Offerings
A recent agreement with Biomerics has resulted in PolyOne becoming the exclusive distributor of medical-grade TPUs.
., Cleveland, Ohio, is expanding its material offerings for the medical device arena through its exclusive distributorship agreement in North America with Biomerics LLC, Salt Lake City, Utah. Biomerics specializes in biomedical materials, compounding, injection molding, extrusion, coating, and medical device fabrication.
Under the agreement, Polyone Distribution will distribute Biomerics Quadrathane, Quadraflex, and Quadraplast medical-grade TPUs. These TPUs are used in a variety of medical device applications such as vascular access catheters, introducers, drainage catheters, interventional radiology devices, fluid management, coatings, balloons and wound care. They are available in a wide range of colors and offer a spectrum of performance characteristics. Says PolyOne Distribution president Mark Crist, “These highly-biocompatible polymers will enhance our ability to help our customers accelerate speed-to-market, meet or exceed product performance requirements and navigate regulatory approvals more confidently.”
