Find the ‘Sweet Spot’ in Your Molding Process
It takes just six steps with new software.
Six easy steps are all it takes to optimize an injection or blow molding process with new software from Paradox Engineering & Technology, Toronto. That’s the claim of consulting engineer Roland Nelson, who developed the Paradox Technologies Optimization Wizard. Based on data from a modified Design of Experiments (DOE) determined by the user’s performance needs (which could take 8 hr or less for a small part), the Wizard analyzes all the parameters simultaneously “to find the multidimensional ‘sweet spot’ of your process—in seconds,” says Nelson. The software prepares a report with optimization curves for each variable specified by the user.
According to Nelson, users typically obtain 12-25% shorter cycle times while increasing the robustness of their process and reducing rejects. Paradox Engineering is represented by Compuplast International of Mississauga, Ont., and Williamsville, N.Y.
