Fully $1.3 million was invested in ’s Clarkston, Mich., headquarters. The investment doubles the company’s footprint to accommodate projected future growth, Chase noted. Besides its executive offices, the Clarkston facility, which employs 63 people, houses the company’s administrative operations. Chase told Plastics Technology that with the expansion the company now has seating capacity to add an additional 23 employees in Clarkston.

A Chase representative noted that the expansion of the South Bend, Ind. distribution center, which boosted square footage by more than 40% from 89,000 sq ft to 126,000 sq ft, will result in a 37% increase in inventory storage capacity and a doubling of dock capacity.

Markets prompting the growth included automotive, office furniture, industrial and consumer, according to Chase. The Indiana project was completed in December 2015, while the Clarkston headquarters was done in May 2016. The Indiana distribution center serves as a centralized distribution hub, leveraging a network of 35 public warehouses to deliver materials where and when needed throughout North and Central America.

The $6 million investment will support Chase’s ability to achieve 99.2 percent on-time shipping, Chase noted, with most orders delivered the next day. Chase has also expanded bulk material management capacity, the number of loading docks, while adding an integrated modern racking system and broader packaging and storage capabilities. Additionally, the operation incorporates wireless warehousing using a high-speed fiber-optic infrastructure.
