Plastixs’ Airtect LA502 Dual Plastic Leak Alarm System monitors for plastic leaks at two injection molding machine nozzles to help prevent costly , while also protecting the user manufacturer’s reputation.

Leaking molten plastic can cause significant damage to molding machines and hot runner molds. This easy-to-install kit includes sensor tubes, programmable machine interlocks, alarms and an LED alarm display for dual nozzle and barrel protection.

The system can also function as a control unit for both fixed and modular manifolds. As soon as a plastic leak occurs — whether deep in a hot runner system or at the machine nozzle — Airtect provides an immediate warning. The location of the leakage is indicated on the LED screen, enabling quick action or repair.

The system uses two nozzles with 2-mm stainless steel sensor tubes featuring flexible silicone rubber ends for direct plastic leak detection. Programmable machine interlocks and a control unit for hot runner protection systems further enhance safety and cost savings.

The Airtect LA502 Kit includes a dual 7-segment LED display with programmable operational settings and an AR-20GF air-pressure regulator with pressure gauge, air filter and fittings. It also has 6 meters of PU tubing, 1 meter of 2-mm silicone rubber tubing and 6 meters of 2-mm stainless steel sensor tubing.

The kit also features 4 nozzle brackets with stainless steel ties, 2-meter electrical power/interlock cable, and an installation and operation manual.

The system is well suited for a variety of industries, including automotive, medical device and plastics industries. The Airtect Plastic Leak Detection systems can be essential for protection against molten plastic leaks. By implementing Airtect, manufacturers can significantly reduce maintenance costs, minimize downtime and safeguard both operators and machines.
